Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Large Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 3 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 5 cloves Fresh Garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup Dry White Wine (Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (chopped)
  • Kosher Salt and Black Pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  • Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and black pepper.
  • Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
  • Pour the white wine (or broth) into the skillet, scraping up any bits stuck to the bottom. Let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until reduced by half.
  • Stir in the remaining tablespoon of butter, lemon juice, and chopped parsley to create the sauce.
  • Add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet, tossing for about 30 seconds to coat in the sauce. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for better flavor. Avoid overcrowding the pan when cooking shrimp to ensure they sear properly.
