Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Lean Ground Beef
  • 1.5 Cups Shredded Sharp Cheddar
  • 8 to 10 Taco Shells or Tortillas
  • 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Cumi
  • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • Sea Salt and Black Pepper to Taste
  • 1/4 Cup Beef Broth or Water

Instructions

  • Place a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef, breaking it into small crumbles as it browns for about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Drain excess grease if necessary, then reduce heat to medium and add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir for 1 minute.
  • Pour in beef broth or water and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until a light sauce forms.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar over the beef, cover with a lid for 60 seconds to melt the cheese.
  • Warm taco shells in the oven or a separate skillet, then fill with the cheesy beef mixture and serve immediately.

Notes

Use freshly grated cheese for better melting. Avoid crowding the pan when browning the beef to ensure a good sear.
