Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 10-12 fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts for added crunch

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
  • In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Pour half of the brownie batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Layer the sliced strawberries evenly over the batter.
  • Sprinkle the dark chocolate chips over the strawberries. Pour the remaining batter over the top, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Substitution tip: Use almond flour for a gluten-free option, or swap the sugar with coconut sugar for a different sweetness profile. For a lower-calorie option, replace half the butter with unsweetened applesauce. You can also use dark chocolate with a higher cocoa content to reduce sugar. For a vegan version, substitute eggs with flaxseed meal mixed with water. Store these brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze the brownies individually wrapped in plastic wrap, then in foil, for up to 3 months.
