Ingredients

  • 12 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Black olives
  • Green olives
  • Paprika
  • Fresh chives
  • Red food coloring
  • Sriracha sauce

Instructions

  • Step 1: Place eggs in a large saucepan and cover with cold water by one inch. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, remove from heat, cover, and let stand for 12 minutes. Transfer eggs immediately to an ice bath.
  • Step 2: Carefully peel cooled eggs and slice lengthwise. Remove yolks and place in a mixing bowl. Mash yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  • Step 3: Fill half of the egg whites with the yolk mixture. Slice black olives in half for spider bodies and place one half in the center of each filled egg. Cut chives into thin strips and arrange around each olive to create spider legs.
  • Step 4: For remaining eggs, add red food coloring to the yolk mixture. Fill the egg whites with this mixture. Place green olives in the center of each egg to simulate eyeballs.
  • Step 5: Lightly dust all eggs with paprika and create 'blood' drizzles using sriracha sauce. Chill completed eggs for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure eggs are not overcooked to avoid rubbery whites. Use an ice bath for easy peeling. Store decorated eggs in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.
