Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets (approx. 6 oz each)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted or extra virgin olive oil)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 whole lemon (sliced for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, and smoked paprika.
  • Place the tilapia fillets on the prepared baking sheet and season with salt and black pepper.
  • Coat each fillet with the lemon herb butter mixture.
  • Arrange lemon slices on top of each fillet.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  • Sprinkle fresh parsley over the fish and let it rest for two minutes before serving.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for the best flavor. Do not overcook the fish to avoid dryness. For an intense lemon flavor, add lemon zest to the butter mixture.
