Ingredients

  • 1 lb Lean Ground Turkey (93% lean)
  • 1-2 large heads Butter Lettuce or Romaine Hearts
  • 1/2 cup Yellow Onion (finely diced)
  • 3 cloves Garlic Cloves (minced)
  • 1 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Ground Cumi
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/4 cup Low-Sodium Chicken Broth
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Lime Juice

Instructions

  • Prepare the lettuce by peeling leaves and rinsing them under cold water. Pat dry and set aside.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Add the ground turkey and break it into small crumbles.
  • Once the turkey begins to brown, stir in the diced onions and cook for about five minutes until translucent.
  • Add minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika to the skillet, stirring for about sixty seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and reduce heat to low, simmering for three to four minutes until the liquid reduces slightly.
  • Remove from heat, stir in fresh lime juice, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Assemble by placing lettuce leaves on plates and spooning the turkey mixture into each leaf.
  • Add desired toppings and serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure lettuce leaves are thoroughly dried to prevent sogginess. Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
