Ingredients

  • 1 pound jumbo lump crab meat
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup crushed saltine crackers
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying (if pan-frying)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, gently combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, crushed saltines, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Form the mixture into patties and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat if pan-frying, or preheat the broiler.
  • Cook the crab cakes for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown if pan-frying, or broil for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Notes

Avoid over-mixing the crab meat to maintain a light, flaky texture. Serve with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of Old Bay for an authentic experience.
