Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Warm the milk to around 110°F (43°C) and activate the yeast with a teaspoon of sugar.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, and softened butter, mixing until a rough dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
  • Punch down the dough, divide it into equal portions, and shape each into a smooth ball.
  • Place the rolls on a baking tray, cover, and let them proof until puffed (30-45 minutes).
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the rolls with an egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
