  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup mini pretzel twists, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons coarse pretzel salt
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Crush mini pretzels into small, irregular pieces and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add cold, cubed butter and work it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal.
  • Fold in the crushed pretzel pieces evenly.
  • Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk, stirring until the dough comes together.
  • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and pat it into a rectangle about ¾-inch thick.
  • Cut the dough into 12-16 small squares or triangles.
  • Transfer the cut biscuits to the baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with coarse pretzel salt.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Keep ingredients cold for flaky layers. Use varied sizes of crushed pretzels for texture. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
