Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup strawberry puree
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup whipped cream

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Separate egg whites and yolks. Whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gradually add sugar. Blend in the yolks, followed by the flour and baking powder.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  • Mix evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream in a bowl. Optionally, add vanilla extract and strawberry puree.
  • Wash and slice fresh strawberries. Spread strawberry puree or jam over the cooled sponge cake.
  • Pour the milk mixture evenly over the cake, allowing it to absorb.
  • Spread a thick layer of freshly whipped cream on top of the soaked cake.
  • Arrange sliced strawberries on top and drizzle with additional puree.

Notes

Make the cake a day in advance for better flavor absorption. Chill before serving.
